TradeSet (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website (including the waitlist and any related pages), our TradeSet mobile application (“App”), and any related services (together, the “Services”). Please read this policy carefully. By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here.

We collect information in the following ways:

Information you provide: When you sign up for our launch waitlist on the website, we collect your email address. If you later create an account in the App (when that feature is available), we may collect account credentials and any profile or contact details you choose to provide.

Information from the App: The App is designed to work offline-first. Calculator inputs, results, job names, and notes are stored locally on your device. If you enable optional cloud sync, we may store a copy of that data on our servers to sync across your devices. We do not collect or transmit calculator or job data unless you explicitly turn on sync.

Usage and technical data: When you use our website, we may collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and general location (e.g. country or region). We use analytics (including PostHog and Vercel Analytics) to understand how the site is used in aggregate—for example, page views and which links or buttons are used (e.g. App Store or Google Play). In the App, we collect minimal usage data (e.g. app version, platform, and anonymised events such as app opens, calculator use, and job creation) via PostHog to improve the product, measure engagement, and optimise marketing. This data is not used to identify you personally unless you have signed in (in which case we may link events to your account to understand usage patterns).

Advertising attribution on iOS: We use Firebase Analytics to measure install and first-open attribution for Google Ads. On iOS, this attribution is enabled only after you grant App Tracking Transparency permission. If you deny permission, we do not enable IDFA-based attribution.

Cookies and similar technologies: Our website may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies for essential functions (e.g. remembering your theme preference) and for analytics (e.g. PostHog). You can control cookies through your browser settings.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and operate the Services, including the waitlist and the App.

• Send you launch updates, store links, and early-access information if you joined the waitlist (you can unsubscribe at any time).

• Improve the Services, fix bugs, and develop new features.

• Understand how the website and App are used in aggregate so we can make them better.

• Measure ad campaign performance (such as app install attribution) where permitted by your device permissions and applicable law.

• Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights and the rights of others.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your calculator or job data for advertising or profiling.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom:

• Consent: We process your waitlist email and marketing communications based on your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing or contacting us.

• Contract: Processing necessary to provide the Services (e.g. running the App, optional sync) is based on our contract with you.

• Legitimate interests: We may process technical and usage data for our legitimate interests in improving and securing the Services, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.

• Legal obligation: Where we must process data to comply with law.

We may share your information only in these situations:

• Service providers: We use third-party services to operate the Services. For example, we use Supabase to store waitlist signups and (if you use sync) to store synced app data; we use Vercel for hosting and analytics on the website; we use PostHog for product and marketing analytics on both the website and the App; and we use Google/Firebase Analytics for mobile app attribution analytics. These providers are bound by contracts that limit how they can use your data.

• Legal: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of TradeSet, our users, or the public.

• Business transfer: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction; we will notify you of any change in control.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

Waitlist and account data are stored using Supabase and related infrastructure. Synced app data (if you enable it) is stored in the same environment. We use industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, to protect your data.

Data you enter in the App and keep only on your device remains under your control and is not transmitted to us unless you enable sync. You are responsible for securing your device (e.g. passcode, biometrics).

We retain waitlist data until you ask us to remove it or we no longer need it for launch communications. We retain synced app data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services; you can request deletion at any time.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.

• Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal exceptions).

• Restriction or objection: Request that we restrict processing or object to certain processing.

• Data portability: Request a copy of your data in a portable format where applicable.

• Withdraw consent: Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

• Complain: Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country.

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses, adequacy decisions) are in place when transferring data from the EEA, UK, or other regulated regions.

The Services are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date. For material changes, we may notify you by email (if we have it) or through a notice in the App. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
